OMG... Almost 12 years ago my life was saturated with to do lists. I had newborn twin babies, a four year old and a sixteen year old. I was running a business from home as well as a household inside and out. I was one busy busy busy mama!! I didn't have time to socialise or shop (other than groceries) let alone get my hair cut or spoil myself with a pedicure. Life was hectic to say the least.
This time of my life also marked the time when, apart from my own babies, I would run from anything remotely 'baby'. I was 'over' kids. I was over the 'cute'. I would make the most of what little time I had without them and feel the need to have my arms free and my body to remain untouched by another human let alone someone else's child. I was SO touched out. So if I was asked if I wanted to 'snuggle' with a new born infant or a toddler wanted to hop up on my lap, I would run a mile!
Now that my twin babies are now 11 years old and showing all the healthy signs of independence, I am beginning to venture into the realm of entertaining the cluck cluck cluck with newborns. The smells, the sounds, the feel of their soft skin, the slow blinks of their eyelids as they try to make out the shapes around them. And venture, I did!
I was asked by past clients to do a baby shoot of Joshua. Six days young and the cutest, perfectly behaved babe!! Incidentally, not one accident the entire time I was there! EEeeeeeee!!! Here are just a couple of pics from the shoot...
He was truly a little gem...
I wanted to eat him up.
As for my first ever baby shoot? I can see the value of having a studio. Already tried and proven props at the ready, lighting, heating and posing. Clearly I have much to learn but for the moment, the journey is so much fun!
Those are WONDERFUL!!! Good job, girlie.
