We went to see Yes Man a couple of days ago. Generally, I'm not a Jim Carey fan but there were some hilarious scenes in the movie. Particularly the fight scene and the 'thank you' scene. When you see the movie yourselves you'll know what I mean by "Thank you". I tried very hard to distract the kids...
ANYWAY, apart from being funny, everything he said "Yes" to rewarded him in so many more ways than he initially thought. It's a feel good movie.
Which leads me to this. I've thought hard about not making resolutions. I even undertook not to make any because it will set me up for failure. It's usually the weight thing. I will wait until the kids go back to school and then hit the gym and diet etc. until Easter and then it all goes to seed. Always failure. What is my problem? In 2008 I gained so much weight and as a result, I felt that nasty cloud of negativity loom over my head. This cloud has affected my outlook on everything and I took it everywhere I went. I don't have time for this, I can't be bothered doing that, I won't try that because it's just a waste of time and just who do they think they are? Boo hoo! Go eat something and while you're at it, sit down. Even my sense of humour has been overshadowed with sarcasm which is never a good thing.
So, it is with great commitment that I say "I resolve to be more positive."
I resolve to think in a positive context. I resolve to openly acknowledge the good in people instead of privately dwelling on the bad. I can make the time to spend with my family and complete scrapping commitments. The entire family will benefit from the effects of great food and healthy bodies! They can even join me on weekly bush walks and photography excursions. Yeah! Awesome! I figure if I am more positive I will see the bright side and the bright side will shine on me accordingly.
If they have to carry me out of the gym on a stretcher I've probably had a great time getting there! Yay!
Now I am going to start Project 365. That is take a photo a day for 365 days. Everyone is doing it! I can do it! (Picture an apprehensive grin from ear to ear.) And if everyone else can find the time to do it then I CAN TOO!
Now I'm going to take a photo...
Awww.... he is sooo cute. I bet he wouldn't dig up and eat your newly fertilized apple and lemon tree now would he.... I'm guessing you know what my two (dogs that is) just did!! Love that idea of a photo a day. Good Luck!!

Hey Lynette! I'm with you on the more positive thinking... I'm sure it will change the overall feeling of life... in case of emergency we can help eachother out!
Cool that you are starting Project 365 as well. I started on January 1st and immediately missed two days, haha. But I'm doing my best and it will be a lot of fun!

Oh lovie, I could have written much of that post myself! I have vowed to minimise my scrapping commitments this year if they lead to me having to make adjustment in any other things. I don't want to have to sit chained to the scrapping table to the detriment of getting to the gym, or spending time with friends and family.
And, hey, the 365 thing, well I was having so much fun with friends at our place today that I seriously could not be stuffed to go get the camera. So... no photo today. But tomorrow I'll try again. No guilt.
Love your photo :D

Only good can come from this...but just remember, you can't change others, only yourself. I look forward to seeing your photos! PS: So if I ask you, does that mean you'll say yes? x

Well I'm proud of you. I didn't know you were being negative. You always sound very positive to me.
Good luck with your new plan! I LOOOOOOVE the photo of Capone. What a cutie. I'd like to snuggle him.
