Debbie

Can I just say that you just put all my feelings about Christmas day...and a perfect re-enactment of Christmas morning (except for the "mum" part) on your blog. Perfect.

RRRRrrrrr.....

I swear you were talking about my house!!! Seriously, that is exactly how it goes!!! Even this morning, as I was doing some cleaning I was thinking to myself...when will it be my turn to fully enjoy a holiday?? LOL

Your stories always bring a smile to my face. You have a way with words Lynette. And yes this is the way it plays out around the world I am sure.

I'm tired. I'm shopped out, tired of writing addresses, tired of fighting crowds, should be working, want to stay in bed and sleep. Anyone else? I need more hours in the day. I need to remember the reason for the season.

Great layout. You rock!

oh I'm so glad we don't celebrate christmas that way. But, we had all the hassle with Sinterklaas (on 5th of December). But that's only for the kids.
We'll be celebrating xmas on Sunday the 23rd, here at our place with Patrick's family (thank god for caterers) (sp?)
And heading off to my parents place on xmaseve. I'm in charge of the xmas brunch (fun). And then on boxingday, we'll be home with just the five of us, relaxing and enjoying a meal of what we in Holland call, gourmetten (everyone has their own little fryingpan at the table with different bits of meats and other goodies to fry and grill) yummy....i'm getting hungry already!

Anyways, Lynette, I hope you can get a bit of sleep sometime between now and xmas! It's no fun, sitting at the dinnertable with suitcases (bags' be too little) under your eyes.

by the way, I hate those sneaks....I want to see the layouts in full glory!!! :)
love the one you did post, though.

tomorrow is Christmas... I am with you Lynette, not enough tomorrows. And I agree, You are a great story teller. keep 'em coming! =)

It's not just Mothers.... it's us Aunts too! Every year for as long as I can remember, the holidays have been left up to me. They are spent at my home. I prepare for my family on one day, and for Joe's again on the next. I am overwhelmed year after year. In my youth, the joke by family was that I could not wait for them all to leave. I'd have the vacuum running before they left my driveway. Some things haven't changed. However, I no longer prepare standing rib roasts and side dishes. There is no more sit down dinners. I load my counters with appetizers and bypass the meal.

It is Wednesday and I haven't started my cookies. I have presents to still buy and I'm wishing it was done.

LO's look good!

Have a Merry X-mas!

It kinda goes like that here too except my hubby does a lot of the cooking of lunch... Thanks goodness for BBQ's...

P.S. Love the layout! I suck at 2 pagers...

Well, Christmas is not like that for me because I don't have children. I have my own little stresses but it's far more laid back at our house.

I wouldn't mind being your kid, just for one Christmas though, because the angel dust and messy reindeer sound fun! We never did all that.

Kessa

Them boys don't know what there missing hey girls. I get such a buzz from doing all these things (and I can see you do too Lynette - Angel kisses). We are looking for better gifts, better ideas, better magic to keep christmas alive. Why? because we want to - so much fun!!! It is the best feeling in the world to wake up, bleary eyed I do admit, to the sounds, smells and wonders of Christmas. The men in our world just don't know what "it" is all about. To see the childrens' faces, to hear their laughter, to hear the ripping of the paper and the cheer "oh WOW mum (see they know) oh I mean mum and dad, thanks".

As it is said it is in the giving and when my children look at me with those eyes that say WOW I really wanted that it makes all the pressures of the last month melt away. Roll on Christmas I still have a million things to do and sleep is not on the agenda but the rewards are worth a mint. Gotta go got presents to finish wrapping. Merry Christmas (only 5 more sleeps).

Well said, Kessa. I totally agree. Lynette, Christmas sounds wonderful at your house - totally 'magical'. Your scenario sounds very, very familiar LOL When my kids were little, the guy across the road used to come over to our house at 7.30pm on Christmas Eve (when the Carols were on TV)dressed as Santa with a huge sack full of toys. He'd ring the traditional bells outside the door first (the reindeer on the roof) and then give a hearty HO HO HO at the front door. My children were so excited! Randell and I used to crack up 'cos the guy had a heavy NZ accent and tried so hard not to use it. The kids never picked up on it
and to this day don't know who the Santa was who used to visit. He's since moved which is a bit of a shame but it certainly added some magic.
Hope you all have a magical Christmas spent with the ones you love :D
